Here’s a recipe for the most delicious chicken burger and grated sweet potatoes. I think this may become your new way to make chicken burgers all the time! We will add a few more ingredients and spices and the result is irresistible! I like to make a simple Creamy Feta Sauce to put on the burger just before serving.  Add all of your favourite toppings and enjoy!

I love to incorporate sweet potatoes into my menu because it has so many health benefits and they add a beautiful natural sweetness to the dish. Using lean ground chicken instead of ground beef makes for a more healthy burger. 

Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, offering benefits such as improved immune function, better digestion, and enhanced heart health. Additionally, using lean ground chicken reduces saturated fat content while providing a good source of protein for muscle repair and growth. Burger Topping Ideas:

Burger toppings take your burger game to the next level! Here are the toppings that I used for this recipe:

  • Grilled Pineapple
  • Maple Bacon
  • Avocado
  • Red Onion
  • Honey Goat Cheese
  • Creamy Feta Sauce (recipe below)

Ingredients:

For the Sweet Potato-Chicken Burgers you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 pkg. Ground Chicken
  • 2 cups peeled and finely grated sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup diced red onions
  • 2 tsp. parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. coriander
  • 1 tsp. garlic
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. lemon zest
  • 1/2 lemon squeezed

Instructions:

To make the burgers, mix all ingredients together in a large bowl and shape into patties. For this recipe I made slider sized burgers and made 6 burgers with 1 lb. of ground chicken.

Cooking Instructions:

Grilling: I like to grill my burgers. I start out using a perforated grilling tray on a medium-high grill. Cook for 7 minutes. Flip them over and continue to cook for another 5 minutes. Place the burger patties directly on the grill and continue to cook for 3 more minutes on each side. 

Frying pan/Oven Method:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Add olive oil to a pan and add the burger patties once pan is hot. Cook for a couple of minutes on each side. Place the burgers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes or until the burgers reach an internal  temperature of 165 degrees.

Creamy Feta Dip

For the Creamy Feta Sauce you will need:

  • 3/4 mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire
  • Pinch of dried oregano
  • Pinch of cayenne
  • Black pepper
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled

To make the dip:

Add all of the ingredients listed above into a food processor and blend until smooth. Serve on top of your burger or it also makes a great dip for fries!

Creamy Feta Dip Recipe

This easy creamy feta dip recipe is made with mayonnaise, feta, garlic and vinegar. It makes great topper for burgers, shawarma's or a delicious dip for fries and veggies.

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire
  • Pinch of dried oregano
  • Pinch of cayenne
  • Black pepper
  • 1 cup feta cheese crumbled
  • 2 tbsp. Water, if you need to thin it out more
