If you had to craft your own burger, what toppings are you putting on your fancy burger creation?
My husband and I came up with this idea for a carefully crafted Hawaiian Sweet Heat burger. We came up with this idea together to include: a delicious jalapeno cream cheese stuffed beef patty, perfectly grilled to juicy perfection, nestled between two toasted brioche buns, and that is just the beginning.
Now, imagine layering on the indulgent flavours of sweet grilled pineapple, crispy salty-sweet maple bacon, creamy guacamole, sliced jalapeños and drizzled it all with a special homemade garlic-feta sauce.Â
I am not going to lie, each topping takes special care in making them but the end result will blow your mind! This is not your average burger!
The flavours of this Hawaiian Sweet Heat burgers checks off all the boxes for a beautifully crafted burger!
It’s sweet, its hot and hits every sense you got!
Now, let’s delve into the delectable details of this stuffed jalapeno burger with the ultimate toppings recipe.
We will start with the heart of the burger – the juicy, flavourful patty. We’ll discuss how to craft the perfect beef patty seasoned to perfection and then chat about the spicy jalapeno and cream cheese filling.Â
Moving on to the toppings, we’ll uncover the secrets behind creating creamy guacamole, crispy bacon, and a garlic feta dip that elevates the burger to new heights of flavour.
This burger is not only pleasing on the eye but tastes incredible! Taking the time to make each topping the best it could be really definitely takes this burger to the next level.
The Burger Patty
Making a great burger is obviously the most important step for this recipe! My go-to burger recipe is always Ina Garten’s Famous Slider Recipe. It is easy to put together and consistently delicious.Â
Ingredients needed to make the Ina Garten Burgers are: Dijon mustard, garlic, fresh thyme, olive oil, salt and pepper. For these Hawaiian Sweet Heat Burgers I also like to add in a bit of steak seasoning and then Gram’s Ultimate BBQ Sauce. I keep a squeeze bottle always full with the sauce because it is amazing on everything. Give it a try!
Now for the jalepeno cream cheese stuffing! Yes, if we are going to take these burgers to the next level we are going to need to stuff them! Â
Â
Now For the toppings!
1. Grilled Pineapple
Grilling pineapple for your burger is a simple yet definitely worth it! I purchased a large case of Aluminum Grill Pans from Amazon and use them for grilling the pineapple and also use them for meats, and veggies. I love to stock pile these in my pantry.Â
To Grill the pineapple begin by preheating your grill to medium-high heat.
Peel, core and slice fresh pineapple into rounds, about 1/2 inch thick.
Lightly brush both sides of the pineapple slices with olive oil or melted butter to prevent sticking and encourage caramelization.
Optionally, sprinkle the slices with a pinch of salt or brown sugar for added flavour.
Place the pineapple slices on an aluminum grill pan or directly onto the preheated grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until grill marks form and the pineapple is lightly caramelized.
Once grilled to perfection, remove the pineapple slices from the grill and serve atop your burger patties.
Grilled pineapple adds a delightful sweetness and tropical flair to your burger, elevating its flavour profile with every bite.
There is nothing better than a Freshly Made Guacamole. I love it on its own, and also on this Hawaiian Sweet Heat Burger!Â
Guacamole serves as a fantastic topper for burgers due to its creamy texture, vibrant flavour, and nutritional benefits. Additionally, guacamole is packed with healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals, making it a nutritious choice to elevate your burger.
Its refreshing taste and versatility allow it to pair well with a variety of burger toppings, adding depth and complexity to every bite.
3. Maple Bacon
Baked maple bacon serves as the ultimate topping for burgers, elevating them to a whole new level of flavour and indulgence.
For this recipe, I love to use a baking sheet lined with tin foil and then place a rack onto the baking sheet. I then place slices of bacon onto the baking rack and sprinkle the bacon with brown sugar and a good sprinkle of pepper.
Bake the bacon in the oven at 375 degrees for approximately 25 minutes. This allows it to become perfectly crispy while caramelizing the brown sugar, resulting in a heavenly glaze that adds depth and richness to the burger. It also keeps your bacon perfectly straight and perfectly shaped to top your burger.
The smoky aroma and irresistible crunch of the bacon perfectly complement the juicy beef patty, creating a symphony of textures and flavors that leave a lasting impression
4. Garlic Feta Spread
Every good burger needs a spread!
For a perfect topping to your burger, look no further than a delectable garlic feta spread.
This creamy concoction combines the bold flavours of garlic and tangy feta cheese, creating a tantalizing spread that takes your burger to new heights of deliciousness.
I found this amazing Roasted Garlic Feta Dip at Whole Foods and used that tastes great on these Hawaiian Sweet Heat Burgers. You can also make it very quickly at home!
To make this savoury spread, simply blend plain yogurt, crumbled feta cheese with minced garlic, a splash of lemon juice, a drizzle of olive oil, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
5. Cheese Please!
Cheese or no cheese, that is the question! It’s all up to your own preference, and don’t forget it is already stuffed with that delicious jalapeno cream cheese blend.
We love cheese so for these Hawaiian Sweet Heat Burgers, we used a blend of cheeses. You may want to use, a cheddar, mozzarella, goat cheese, feta cheese or even blue cheese! It is entirely up to you!
6. The Bun
We need to chat about the bun as this is another extremely important ingredient! For this recipe I love to use a Brioche Bun that can be found at Walmart and most grocery stores! I also love to buy them from a local bakery if I have time to drive around.
For the preparation, I spread a little bit of butter onto the buns and grill them for only a short time to get them slightly toasted and just before its time to assemble the burgers!
The Assembly:
Once your beautiful burger has been cooked to perfection, and you have your nicely toasted buns; it is now time to assemble your Hawaiian Sweet Heat Burger! For the assembly:
- Place your burger onto the toasted bun
- Add on your shredded cheeseÂ
- Spoon on the Garlic Feta Dip
- Now add your grilled pineapple
- Add 2 strips of bacon in an “X” pattern
- Spoon on your delicious Guacamole
