Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Puff Pastry
  • 1 Zucchini, sliced very very thin
  • 1 lb. Ground Beef, Lean
  • 1 small Onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 Red Onion, sliced very thin
  • 1/2 cup Goat Cheese, crumbled
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp. Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp. Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp. Granulated Garlic

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°
For the Beef: Brown the beef in 1 tbsp. olive oil to a pan. Cook the beef until no longer pink. I like to drain the beef in a colander. Clean your frying pan and then add the beef back into the clean pan. Add the chopped onion and the 1/2 cup of water. Over Medium heat, cook the onions and beef together. You are basically cooking the onions at this point. You will know that it is ready when the onions are translucent and sweet to taste. The water will have mostly evaporated. Approximately 7 minutes. Add in your spices of Granulated Garlic, Salt, Pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cool.
Roll out your puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface. I roll up the sides to give it a crust rim.
Mix an egg and 1 tbsp. mayonnaise together. Using a pastry brush; paint the entire pastry with the egg wash. Sprinkle the crust with Italian seasoning and granulated garlic.
    The Assembly:
Add crumbled goat cheese, ground beef, sliced zucchini, and sliced red onion. You can also sprinkle some Parmesan cheese over top of everything now if you desire.
Bake at 425° for approximately 15- 20 minutes or until golden brown.
